Our team is comprised of New York State Licensed Acupuncturists holding the highest training in the state. Additionally, our acupuncturists are nationally board certified in both acupuncture and Chinese Herbology.

The Founder & Owner of Think Acupuncture
James M. Shinol holds a Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine from Southwest Acupuncture College, Boulder Colorado. Prior to his education in East Asian Medicine, he obtained a bachelors degree in Pre-Med from Albright College in Reading PA. James is a Diplomat of Acupuncture, a Diplomat of Chinese Herbology, and a Diplomat of Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). He serves as the President on the Executive Board of The Acupuncture Society of New York and is the Graduate School Department Chair at a local acupuncture. He has extensive knowledge and experience in treating infertility (male and female), pain of all types, respiratory and digestive conditions, and much more. He works closely with many medical doctors and prides himself on blending the two medicines.
Adam is a licensed acupuncturist in New York State, Board Certified in Acupuncture (NCCAOM) and holds a Masters of Science degree in Oriental Medicine. Adam graduated from New York College of Health Professions where he received the Clinical Excellence Award. Adam’s interest in East Asian Medicine began at the age of eleven after receiving successful acupuncture treatments for migraine headaches. Adam began training in traditional Shaolin martial arts which fueled his interest in East Asian philosophy and a holistic lifestyle grew exponentially. Adam has a steadfast commitment to improving his patients’ health through many avenues, in particular nutritional and lifestyle modification. He prides himself on patient education and explaining the “how and why” of this incredible medicine.
Licensed Massage Therapist (NY)
Jeanine Pena is a licensed acupuncturist and massage therapist in New York State. Jeanine is a Diplomate of Acupuncture (NCCAOM) and obtained her Master of Science degree in Acupuncture from New York College of Health Professions in Syosset, where she graduated with Academic Excellence. Previous to her studies in East Asian Medicine, Jeanine obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Special Education. Jeanine believes in an integration of Western and Eastern approaches to healing. Jeanine treats a wide variety of ailments with a concentration in sports acupuncture and massage focused in the treatment of injuries and pain management.
Megan Ferretti is a board certified and Licensed acupuncturist in New York State. She received her Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine degree from New York College of Health professions, where she graduated at the top of her class. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stony Brook University. Megan has experience treating a wide range of disorders such as numerous chronic medical conditions, pain, psychological disorders, and infertility/ women’s wellness. She also enjoys bringing a unique compassionate quality, and a gentle approach to her treatments.
