The Founder & Owner of Think Acupuncture

James M. Shinol holds a Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine from Southwest Acupuncture College, Boulder Colorado. Prior to his education in East Asian Medicine, he obtained a bachelors degree in Pre-Med from Albright College in Reading PA. James is a Diplomat of Acupuncture, a Diplomat of Chinese Herbology, and a Diplomat of Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). He serves as the President on the Executive Board of The Acupuncture Society of New York and is the Graduate School Department Chair at a local acupuncture. He has extensive knowledge and experience in treating infertility (male and female), pain of all types, respiratory and digestive conditions, and much more. He works closely with many medical doctors and prides himself on blending the two medicines.

Jeanine Pena is a licensed acupuncturist and massage therapist in New York State. Jeanine is a Diplomate of Acupuncture (NCCAOM) and obtained her Master of Science degree in Acupuncture from New York College of Health Professions in Syosset, where she graduated with Academic Excellence. Previous to her studies in East Asian Medicine, Jeanine obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Special Education. Jeanine believes in an integration of Western and Eastern approaches to healing. Jeanine treats a wide variety of ailments with a concentration in sports acupuncture and massage focused in the treatment of injuries and pain management.

Maria Tancredi Hogan is a licensed Acupuncturist and Massage Therapist. She graduated with a Master’s degree in acupuncture from New York College of Health Professions where she currently is a Professor and Supervisor to students in the Massage Therapy program. Maria is passionate about sharing the healing benefits of Chinese Medicine. Believing the body should be treated as a whole, she uses many modalities to treat various conditions such as sports injuries, pain management, digestive complaints, and stress reduction.

Dana Adamkiewicz is a Board Certified and Licensed Acupuncturist in New York State. She received her Master of Science degree in Acupuncture from New York College of Health Professions. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Eastern Philosophy from Stony Brook University. Through her prior experience in sports and coaching, Dana has a passion for treating sports injuries and concussions among other pain and psycho-emotional ailments. She approaches this true holistic medicine by incorporating the mind, body and spirit in her treatments to promote healing.

Katie Kops is a licensed acupuncturist and massage therapist in New York State. Katie is a Diplomate of Acupuncture (NCCAOM) and attended New York College of Health Professions in Syosset,NY to obtain her Master of Science degree in Acupuncture. Katie is currently attending Pacific College of Oriental Medicine to obtain her doctorate. Katie treats a variety of ailments with a concentration in sports acupuncture and a healthy lifestyle.

Lawrence Kwong is a licensed acupuncturist in New York State. He holds a Master of Science degree in Health Science/Oriental Medicine from New York College of Health Professions where he graduated with Academic and Clinical Excellence Awards. Prior to pursuing Oriental Medicine, he received his Bachelors of Science in Chemistry and Health Science from Stony Brook University. Lawrence’s family is the driving force that his foundation was built on as huge advocates of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He gained exposure to Oriental Medicine throughout his childhood where his interest in this field began. Lawrence is dedicated to improving patients’ well-being and health through the use of acupuncture and Chinese herbs. His primary goal is to educate others on the potential of Oriental Medicine and the health benefits it has as an alternative to Western medicine.

April Vecchiarello, BA, LMT
NYS Licensed Acupuncturist

April Vecchiarello is a licensed massage therapist in New York State. She is a graduate of the world-renowned Swedish Institute in Mahattan, NY and obtained her degree with academic excellence. Prior to her Health Science studies, April earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts at Long Island University/C.W. Post. Her dynamic approach to massage combines an in-depth knowledge of myology and kinesiology with various Western and Eastern modalities, resulting in treatment that guides the body towards both physical and energetic well-being. April is a Medical Massage Specialist with a concentration in Sports Massage, injury recovery, pain management and is Prenatal Certified.
